Abstract

The objective of this document is to summarize the outcome of the research which has been carried out during the period Mai 2011 until June 2012 i.e. during the first year of the PhD study. The work has been done in collaboration with the co-authors. The aim of the project was primarily to provide numerical values for comparison with the experimental test results which were carried out in the same time. It is for this reason why Chapter 4 does consist exclusively of numerical values. Experimental values and measured time series of wave elevations have been used throughout the report in order to a) validate the numerical model and b) preform stochastic analysis. The latter technique is introduced in order to optimize the control parameters of the power take off system.
