Abstract

Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster has launched a new report, which provides an overview of Danish competencies relating to smart energy systems. The report, which is based on a questionnaire answered by almost 200 companies working with smart energy as well as a number of expert interviews, focuses on the synergies which are obtained through integration of the district heating and district cooling, gas, and electricity grid into a single smart energy system.

Besides documenting the technology and innovation strengths that Danish companies possess particularly relating to wind, district heating, CHP production, large scale solar heat, fuel cells, heat storage, waste incineration, among others, the report draws a picture of Denmark as a research and development hub for smart energy system solutions.
