Abstract
Structures like sport stadiums, grandstands and arenas for rock concerts become larger and more and more flexible. Therefore dynamic effects due to loads from synchronized movements of people become more important. This paper describes a spectral approach to model the structural response, and the paper focus on the load harmonics determining the load effects o f synchronized movements. The Jack of load correlation is determined by correlation coefficients, which are specified as fimetion o f the load harmonic considered. The model is calibrated to measured data and simplified procedures for implementation in structural codes are presented.
