Denmark: Thomas Alrik Sørensen, Associate Professor, Department of Communication & Psychology, Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience, Aalborg University, Denmark. Aim The students will be introduced to cognitive science emphasising the functional aspects of the human brain that govern everyday behaviour, such as; attention, memory, problem solving, etc. The course is based on a number of lectures in combination with student participation in workshops and exercises. Here the students will conduct small behavioural experiments, typical relating to some of the classical studies in cognitive science (e.g. visual search (Treisman & Gelade, 1980), the serial positioning curve (Glazer and Cunitz, 1966) in free recall, etc.). The overall goal is to give the course participants a thorough introduction to cognitive science and behavioural methods.Period | 5 Jun 2017 → 30 Jun 2017 |
