Neurons in our Brains vs ANN - How different are they?

Activity: Talks and presentationsTalks and presentations in private or public companies

Description

This talk embarks on the advances in energy-efficient and sparse online learning enabled by biologically plausible models of neurons instead of their multilayer perceptron models in ANNs. We will then shortly delve into computational neuroscience fundamentals (in layman terms) on how event-driven computations unravel new and “plastic” opportunities for scientific machine learning and computing through a short example towards the end with its applications in energy systems.
