Imposing Section 214 creates busy work, not improved national security

Roslyn Layton, Senior Vice President of Strand Consult and Visiting Researcher at Aalborg University Copenhagen, criticises the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) plan to impose Section 214 obligations on all U.S. broadband providers. She argues that this move, traditionally reserved for foreign entities, is unnecessary and disruptive. "Imposing Section 214 on them is not only unnecessary, but it is disruptive," Ms Layton says.
