Project Details

Description

The purpose of the project is to develop and test a measurement method and a sensor that can measure the draught of larger ships. This is accomplished by using acoustic signals to assess changes in the transition between air and water through the interaction of the water with the hull. It is important to know the draught for effective sailing, but many sensors do not measure this accurately, resulting in the ship sailing with an incorrect profile. The aim is to find a solution that can measure the draught of the ship without being in contact with the water, as sensors are located on the inside of the ship.
The project is supported by Clean, now Energy Cluster Denmark.
