Project Details

Description

The point of departure and hypothesis of the planned research project is the notion that in relation to the use of digital technologies human activities will have a number of consequences both spatial and social in urban areas. These consequences are important to the structure of society and the constitution of social practices. Human activities in (and in between) physical and virtual spaces are the main and significant dynamics of urban human life. A specific theoretical and empirical analysis with a cross-disciplinary and rethinking approach will allow discussion of the historical and unique relations between spaces and flows - relations already existing in the cities today. The overall aim of the research project is to gain insight into these consequences and to re-lay this important knowledge to political/urban planning, the education/research sector, and a broader public.
