Validity and Reliability Evidence for a Music Therapy Observational Instrument for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Project Details

Description

The purpose of this study is to establish predictive, concurrent, convergent validity and inter-rater reliability for a music therapy assessment instrument designed to support music therapists in formulating clinical goals and strategies for working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) by: (1) correlating it with “ gold standard” instruments used to assess functioning of children with ASD and (2) comparing its ability to distinguish between typically developing children and children diagnosed with ASD with “gold standard” instruments.
