Abstract

This paper presents the process used to devise the Teamwork Failure Prevention Questionnaire (TFP Questionnaire), a tool that allows
teams with problems in functioning to be detected early.
The TFP Questionnaire was formulated in a project management course at the University of Zaragoza (Spain). In this course,
teams of five or six students have to manage a project for a real client. The questionnaire was then tested on students on this course
and on a similar one at Aalborg University (Denmark).
This article analyses the psychometric characteristics of the TFP Questionnaire and then presents and discusses its results, before
moving onto examine the implications of this research for engineering education research and engineering education in general.
