Abstract

This paper describes how Denmark has implemented the directive2013/59/EURATOM, laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangerscaused byexposure to ionisingradiation. Ionising radiation developsfrom radon. Furthermore, the paper describes a procedure to determine the value of the mean year concentration of radon based on short-term measurements. Procedures are described both for radon measurements in the indoor environment of buildings used for accommodation and buildings used for other purposes such as workspace, day-care for children and schools. In addition, the paper arguesfor the described requirements thatshort-term measurementsshouldfollow in order to be used forestimatingtheconcentration ofradon indoorsas the mean year value.
