High Hopes for Mixed Communities

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

In countries with higher levels of socioeconomic inequality and socio-spatial differentiation, where segregation levels have been rising, such as Portugal, public authorities show greater difficulties in ensuring a balanced and sustainable territory development. The emergence of urban areas in crisis is the most visible side of this difficulty.

The evaluation of interventions in critical urban areas has shown the importance of acting in the early stages of the decline and advises preventive action at the level of regulation of land use in the fields of urban planning and of housing policies.

The aim of this project is to discuss the role of social mix and housing mix to support the construction of more just and balanced cities.
