IEA DHC Annex TS7

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

Renewable and excess heat sources are currently representing nearly a third of the energy supply used in the district heating and cooling sector. Excess heat has the potential to grow further and become an important part of the energy puzzle. Studies have shown that up to 25% of district heating could be covered by industrial excess heat and more than 10% of EU’s total energy demand for heating and hot water could be covered by heat from data centres, metro stations, service sector buildings, and wastewater treatment plants. Therefore, the International Energy Agency Technology Collaboration on District Heating and Cooling (IEA DHC) has started the preparation of DHC Annex TS7 “Industry-DHC Symbiosis A systemic approach for highly integrated industrial and thermal energy systems”. This project covers the Danish participation in IEA DHC Annex TS7. The primary result of the Annex TS7 is a Guidebook providing a holistic understanding of DHC integration options and synergies in, and with, the industry. The Guidebook together with other dissemination activities will raise awareness of the advantages of sector coupling and quantify the value of excess heat among different actors.
