Minimization of microgrid voltages harmonic distortion using remaining capacity of power electronic based distributed energy resources

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

Power Electronics (PE)-based system is emerged into the power system in order to provide reliable, renewa-ble and cheaper electricity for the rising demand. When the PE-based systems are introduced, there will be several concerns such as active and reactive power sharing, load management, connecting to the main grid, voltage and current deviations, etc. With distributed generation sources becoming more interested, re-searchers are trying to mitigate PE-based systems harmonics.
Presence of the nonlinear loads and the use of power electronic devices in distributed generation (DG) units cause harmonic components in voltages and currents of the power grid. Such voltage and current harmonics decrease power quality and increase losses in the PE-based system. Therefore, the main goal of this stay is to work on minimization of PE-based systems voltage harmonic distortion and the its buses using remaining capacity of power electronic based distributed energy resources. Moreover, the standards for voltage har-monic distortion mitigation will be included to the above multi objective optimization problem.
