Drone-Based Daylight Electroluminescence Imaging of PV Modules

Abstrakt

In this work, we present a drone-based acquisition system able to acquire electroluminescence (EL) images at a frame rate of 120 frames per second. This capability allows the system to obtain in less than one second enough EL and background modulated images to accomplish good quality EL imaging of PV modules during bright daylight. The preliminary EL images shown in this abstract present an average quality compared with stationary daylight EL. The final version of this paper will include scene-by-scene perspective distortion correction to improve the EL image quality as well as qualification (SNRAVG) of the achieved results. For the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that EL images are obtained from a drone during high solar irradiance (850 W/m2).
