Description

Aalborg University's professor Brian Vad Mathiesen has contributed to a report on the energy transition in Denmark, stating that phasing out most of Danish oil and gas exploration by 2034 is not only possible, but less costly than anticipated. Mr Mathiesen emphasises the need for a clear and holistic strategy for all oil and gas sector actors, and called for an independent committee to support the government in outlining concrete actions to end oil and gas exploration well before 2050. "There is a unique window of opportunity to accelerate the clean energy transition in Denmark..," he says.
