Qualitative Studies (QS) focus on methodological and theoretical development in the qualitative psychological domain. At the heart of QS lies the question of how we – based on interdisciplinarity and theoretical rigor –can furnish and enhance a qualitative stance in an ever more complex world. QS views qualitative research as an inseparable whole, where theoretical, empirical, and methodological aspects are mutually informed. The group members represent a wide range of psychological perspectives such as humanistic, pedagogical, socio-cultural, and existential psychology. Members of QS likewise take an active part in public debates on topics related to their respective research fields. QS runs the BFI-registered journal, Qualitative Studies that publishes biannual special issues, and plays an important part in the organization of “Kvale-konferencen”.
