Izhar Mithal Jiskani is an educator and interdisciplinary researcher with a passion for sustainability. His current research focuses on impact assessment within mining, particularly emphasizing the role of mining in facilitating the energy transition to address climate change. He aims to foster positive change in the mining industry and work towards a future where mining practices are not only economically viable but also socially responsible and environmentally sustainable.

Prior to his current research position, he served as Head of Department for Mining and Mineral Resources at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan. He holds official recognition from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan as an Approved PhD Supervisor. His academic involvement extends to various activities, such as serving as an external examiner and subject expert for PhD and master’s theses and participating in various university services and advisory roles.

His scholarly contributions encompass a range of roles, from Associate Editor to Reviewer. Moreover, he prioritizes knowledge dissemination through invited talks and seminars, believing that education and awareness are crucial for creating a sustainable future.
