Understanding the Genetic Architecture of Common Complex Diseases

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

Modern medicine is currently being revolutionised by genomic information which is the foundation for the transition into the era of precision medicine, stratifying individuals based on their genetic propensity of developing diseases. Within our group recently established at Aalborg University we are using large scale genetics and other omics technologies to (1) identify risk genes for common complex traits, (2) turn findings into mechanistic understanding and (3) integrate results with clinical risk factors to improve clinical decision support tools. Our main goal is to advance personalised medicine. These endeavours are all entirely depending on large scale computing.
