Abstract

The Prospective Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Network is a community of researchers and practitioners who share a common interest in harmonization and methodology development for prospective LCA studies. Established in 2022, the network was founded at an inaugural meeting at the SETAC Europe 32nd annual meeting in Copenhagen. The network's main objective is to promote knowledge sharing among its members and advance the field of prospective LCA. One of the core activities of the network is the organization of online seminars, presentations, discussions, and workshops. These events allow members to share their expertise and experience and learn from one another. The network also facilitates the exchange of relevant literature and research papers, as well as news and updates about research and other events in the prospective LCA domain. Furthermore, the network conducts research into prospective LCA, with a particular focus on clarifying the boundaries of the discipline. The network is non-profit and is run by volunteers, including an organizing team that meets bimonthly. The organizing team is responsible for planning the network's scholastic activities and defining its direction and purpose. At the LCM conference, the network showcases its activities and progress. The network's presentation will highlight the key features and benefits of the LCA network. The presentation will also discuss the network's future roadmap and how it can help address some of the LCM community's current challenges. The prospective LCA network is committed to advancing the field of prospective LCA by promoting collaboration, sharing knowledge, and conducting research. As the network grows, it aims to become a leading voice in the field of prospective LCA, driving more sustainable outcomes for society and the environment.
