Research profile
Current research interests include multiculturalism in civil society, intercultural citizenship, inclusion & diversity, and cultural representations. I have published on topics such as nationalism, language politics, intercultural encounters, academic socialisation and internationalisation processes in HE.
I teach courses on International and Intercultural Communication, Cultural Studies, and Cultural Didactics in the programmes of Language and International Studies (LISE), Cultural Studies ('Kulturforståelse') and Business Communication (SIV). I supervise projects on topics such as intercultural relations, intercultural communication, inclusion and diversity, and civil society (LISE), as well as projects on UK Society (English 2nd semester) and Textual Analysis (English, 1st semester). I am the current Study Abroad coordinator for LISE and convener of the extracurricular 'Global Graduate' programme.
My outreach activities include appearances in Danish media (on all things Scottish), guest lectures on international and intercultural education, and participation in projects relation to Diversity & Inclusion in civil society. Between 2019 and 2023 I functioned as chair of Academic Council, Humanities and Social Sciences.
