About the network
Children in conflict with the law remain an important societal challenge that raises many questions across disciplines: Who are these children and young people, how can we facilitate a positive development in them, how do the systems of today work and to what extent are these systems in need of further development?

In order to study the complex issues that arise when children and young people commit crimes, it is necessary to combine knowledge from different disciplines, and therefore to facilitate collaboration between researchers in these disciplines and between researchers and practitioners. That is why Nordisk nettverk: Barn og unge i konflikt med loven (Nordic network: Children and young people in conflict with the law) was formed in 2021.

The network brings together Nordic researchers and practitioners in criminology, law and social work. The purpose of the network is to develop and discuss knowledge concerning children and youth in conflict with the law in a broad sense, and to collaborate on ideas, conference contributions, publications and other initiatives, as well as to develop joint research projects. The network held its first digital seminar on 19 October 2021
