Abstract

The selection of a suitable wastewater system, or the upgrade of an existing system, depends by the type
of the system, the size and location and the quantity and quality of the wastewater flow. The key to system
selection, sizing and placement is identifying the desired level of performance and ensure that the effluent
quality at the performance boundaries corresponds to the expected legislative treatment requirements.
In this chapter, is presented the possible technological changes in the wastewater systems that is needed
to improve the treatment result even during the busiest tourist season in the project's pilot sites in
Denmark, Finland, Latvia and Poland.
