Forskningsprofil

Daniel is currently serving as a tenured Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department of Aalborg University in Copenhagen. Previously, he was a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Aalborg, a postdoc at the Computer Science Department of the University College Cork, after a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Bologna; and working as an ICT professional and entrepreneur. He performed several studies on research methodologies, company involvement in Open Source software projects, and Socio-Technical Software Engineering topics in Defense agencies and multinational banking institutions, which he actively consults. His research interests include Empirical Software Engineering, Managing Information Systems, and Computer Science Education.  He is a fellow of different research institutions, such as the Irish Software Research Centre (Lero), the Italian National Research Council (CNR), and the Italian Interuniversity Consortium for Computer Science (CINI). He has 5+ years of experience in lecturing different Computer Science classes at different universities. In his career, he was successful in charge (as PI) or collaborated in the collection of about 1M Euro net research funds. Daniel authored over 35 peers reviewed journal, conference and book chapter articles in prestigious international venues, and received several honours for his early achievements.
