A number of studies show that the Danish education and school system are faced with serious challenges. There is a need for transforming the didactic strategies to prepare the educational system, teachers and pedagogues, students and children for the future. To meet these challenges, the Playful Learning Research project is designed as a multidisciplinary project that bridges academia and the UC Playful Learning Programme. It combines effect
measurement with a theory-driven design research approach that moves through several stages of developing a conceptual Playful Learning framework, examining Playful Learning in learning locations using the framework, and
translating the generated knowledge into Playful Learning models, designs and roadmaps.
